Over 300 soccer fans gathered for the first Ranyaka/Nedbank Youth Mini Soccer and Netball Tournament which took place in Zwide’s Ward 26 during the last week of June 2022.
Six soccer teams took to the field with Major Chiefs, Zwide Celtics and Amadamara showing their mettle on the field. Two netball teams joined in the day’s action. The Nedbank Proud of my Town programme was the primary sponsor for the day, making it possible for us to purchase balls and kits and, of course, provide well-deserved trophies and medals!
Ranyaka’s local coordinator in Zwide, Sim Umthombohr, says that ‘The tournament was most welcomed by the community and they are looking forward to another tournament in the near future!’
