Last week, 700 pupils from Mphe Thuto Primary School in Magaliesburg received brand-new school shoes and stationery thanks to Making a Difference South Africa who approached the De Beers Group for a sponsorship.

Ranyaka’s local lead co-ordinator in Magaliesburg, Ryan Marsden, did a fantastic job at arranging this special event – from getting the shoe sizes of all 700 children all the way through to ensuring that every child and guest got to enjoy sweets and cake as part of the festivities.

Thank you to every local organisation, sponsor, business and individual who played a part in making this day possible – either through hands-on support or donations. These include the De Beers Group, Making A Difference South Africa, Bekker High School, the Magaliesburg Community Policing Forum, Magalies Child Welfare, La Veneziana Ice Cream, Tops Liquor, Super Spar, Working on Fire, Benjiflo Care Givers, Magaliesburg SAP, the Dutch Reformed church, the Rietlaagte Fire Protection Association and the West Rand Cluster Community Police Forum.

What an incredible example of collaboration in action!

Magaliesburg is one of several towns across South Africa that forms part of Nedbank’s Proud of my Town initiative. This initiative aims to bring about positive socio-economic transformation in towns and communities and is based on Ranyaka’s Collaborative Community Development Model.

Ranyaka is implementing the initiative for Nedbank and does so with the help of committed volunteer local lead co-ordinators such as Ryan Marsden. Thank you for the incredible work you are doing in the community of Magaliesburg, Ryan and team!
