The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown affects every single South African and the most vulnerable members of our society are undoubtedly the hardest hit.
As part of Nedbank‘s Proud of my Town programme, we had the privilege today to support two shelters in the City of Tshwane that have been set up to house and take care of the homeless in the city during these difficult times.
Ranyaka and Nedbank would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the South African Army who truly went the extra mile to assist with the delivery of food supplies to the NGO that feeds over 800 homeless people a day. This NGO relies predominantly on private donations from residents and farmers – and the Nedbank donation, together with the practical assistance from the Army, will help make a difference!
The South African Army also assisted with relief interventions in Mamelodi earlier this month – a report on that follows soon!
Thank you to our northern nodes co-ordinator, Maggie Madidimetsa Tsotetsi for the great work you are doing in bringing relief to individuals and households who need it most.
Tshwane is one of 8 nodes in 6 provinces across South Africa where Nedbank is implementing its Proud of my Town programme. Ranyaka is the implementation agent for this programme which is currently supporting multiple Covid-19 relief interventions.
