Early Childhood Development is one of the ten programmes that forms part of Ranyaka’s community transformation model.
Over the next few weeks, Neil Cupido, registered Occupational Health and Safety Officer, will be installing fire extinguishers and safety signage at ECD centres in Stellenbosch and Paarl. The crèche principals received fire extinguishers, first aid kits and safety signage at an ECD workshop hosted by Ranyaka and Inceba Trust last month.
Neil is also checking wooden structures to assess which ones are ready to be painted with intumescent (fire-retardant) paint.
The ECD programme is funded by Nedbank’s Proud of my Town fund as part of the greater Proud of my Town initiative. The initiative aims to bring socio-economic transformation to towns and neighbourhoods in South Africa. By mid-2019, the initiative will have rolled out in 12 towns across the country!
