“I noticed that dirty bins were making people sick.”

Kayamandi-based entrepreneur, Phuti Mbothane, spotted a gap in the market when he realised how litter and unsanitary dustbins were contributing to illness in his community. Today, his bin cleaning business makes a difference to the well-being of his clients – and the wider community. Operating under the business name Masiphilisane KM, Phuti would also like to expand his car wash business in the area.

Phuti is one of the entrepreneurs who is attending this week’s Ranyaka Enterprise Development Academy in Stellenbosch. The academy is facilitated by entrepreneurship specialists, Labit.

“Everything I have learnt so far has been very valuable,” says Phuti. “Today I learn more about marketing skills and about the importance of good customer service.”

Thank you, Distell Group for making it possible for Phuti to attend the academy through your sponsorship!
