A FIRST-OF-ITS KIND COCREATE HUB FOR STELLENBOSCH

For many years, the old clinic at 7 Victoria Street in the town of Stellenbosch nurtured the physical health of local communities. In mid-2021, the historical clinic once again opened its doors – this time, as a unique space that also opens doors to economic inclusivity in Stellenbosch – nurturing the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit in our midst to the benefit of all our local communities.

WHERE IS THE HUB?

The CoCreate Hub occupies a prime spot in the very heart of Stellenbosch – a mere stone’s throw from Eikestad Mall and within easy walking distance from the University campus, the town’s main taxi rank, businesses, restaurants and tourist attractions.

WHAT DOES THE HUB OFFER?

  • A public eatery, gift shop, deli, gallery space, barber shop/hairdresser, beauty salon and food court
  • Affordable co-working, hot desking and office space
  • Meeting and training rooms
  • Trading/retail space for local products, art, crafts and services
  • Training and incubation services
  • Business mentoring
  • Internet connectivity and office equipment (e.g. access to printers and copiers)
  • Support in including these businesses into the local supply chain (e.g. assisting service providers to qualify for contracts and submit tenders)
  • Space for local NGOs that focus specifically on Enterprise Development/entrepreneurial development

WHO DOES THE SPACE CATER FOR?

Ranyaka’s Building Business programme focuses on assisting entrepreneurs who come from marginalised communities who might not otherwise have access to opportunities such as these. Our focus aligns with the specifications as stipulated in the Municipality’s requirements with regards to the beneficiaries of this hub.

Vendors who apply to make use of the space/trade their products from the Hub or entrepreneurs who register on our database to express interest in making use of this space should meet the following criteria:

  • Micro Enterprises or Small Enterprises with a B-BBEE status level 1 or 2 (majority black ownership)

  • Stellenbosch-based NGO/CBO with an enterprise or business development mandate

  • Business or residential address within the Municipal boundary of the greater Stellenbosch.

  • Minimum 3 years trade experience

  • Registration with relevant trade industry regulators (where applicable)

  • Registered businesses or sole proprietors in good standing with SARS.

Please contact us if you are interested, but are uncertain as to whether your area falls within the municipal boundaries.
