COLLABORATION IN ACTION
“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford
Whilst multi-sectoral collaboration is engrained into our approach and serves as the golden thread that runs across all our interventions, specific collaborative initiatives qualify as programmes in their own right. These partnerships are mutually beneficial; strengthen the Ranyaka model and the roll-out of our process; create platforms that unlock opportunities; ignite synergy; promote learning and assist communities to self-organise. Such initiatives include:
-
Innovation and technology partnerships with academic institutions such as the Stellenbosch University and North-West University;
-
The establishment of, and participation in, forums and networks for NGO collaboration, such as the Stellenbosch Civil Advocacy Network (SCAN);
-
Facilitation of collaboration amongst faith-based institutions through, amongst others, church collaboration workshops where churches’ involvement in social justice activities is mapped to determine whether interventions are addressing actual needs, encourage collaboration where there is duplication and identify gaps where support is still needed; and
-
The establishment and strengthening of business forums and collectives, such as the Magalies Business Forum (MBF)
